Located close to the Devon/Cornwall border and centrally between North and South coast, Polhilsa is an ideal base for touring both counties. The areas of outstanding natural beauty of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, both offering some of the most breathtaking views are a half hour drive and guests can be in Devon. Cornwall offers some of the most dramatic coastline with many walks to choose from on the South West Coastal Footpath. Sheltered coves, fishing villages and sandy beaches are all only a short drive away as are several National Trust properties and of course, the world famous Eden project and Lost Gardens of Heligan. Just a short drive and guests can be in Devon where a visit to the market town of Tavistock will not disappoint. Explore the natural beauty of Dartmoor or take a trip to the ocean city of Plymouth and enjoy a leisurely tour of the Hoe and Barbican with its small restaurants and Bars.
This barn was converted in 2017 and adds to our collection of self catering cottages and Bed and Breakfast accommodation that is family run.
The accommodation offers 2 bedrooms, both have en-suite shower rooms with WC. The spacious rooms have been tastefully converted and decorated in keeping with a barn. On the first floor, the large beamed bedroom has a king and single bed thus allowing single, double or twin occupancy. The ground floor bedroom hosts a king bed only and has been converted in a manner that is suitable for guests with limited mobility.
An open plan kitchen/lounge/diner occupies the remainder of the ground floor. In the lounge area is a settee and flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD. A well equipped kitchen area with the usual facilities of cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine and microwave and dining facilities for up to 4 people completes the ground floor. Once in the property, the whole ground floor is level.
A further larger Lounge where guests can relax and enjoy fabulous views across the fishing lakes is situated on the first floor.
Outside, guests have access to all garden areas where there is seating and BBQ available. Fishing is free to guests although rules apply and booking is necessary. Ample parking is available.
Other amenities included are Bed linen, towels, electric and central heating. Wi-fi available on site. 1 well behaved dog welcome – charges apply. Regret no smoking within the property.
